Job summary

Nova Biomedical in Waltham, MA is seeking a Consumable Engineering Co-op to support regulated manufacturing operations, equipment qualification, and continuous improvement. The role focuses on creating procedures, validating processes, and assisting with fixture design and installs.

You will work closely with manufacturing, R&D, QA, and other teams to ensure on-time, high-quality output while learning Quality System Regulations and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
• No prior professional experience required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling and drafting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise manufacturing documentation per Quality System Regulations and ISO.
• Measure components to evaluate form, fit, function for nonconforming products.
• Develop and execute installation qualifications and process validations.
• Setup and install new equipment for existing or new processes.
• Design tooling and fixtures; modify production equipment.
• Lead process improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, reliability.
• Provide direct technical support to manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate across Manufacturing, R&D, QA, QC, Marketing, Accounting, Purchasing, Planning, Distribution.
• Maintain organized engineering records and documentation.
• Support projects meeting quality requirements and timelines.
• Communicate progress and concerns to engineers clearly.
• Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
