CNA is a market leader in providing professional liability and medical malpractice coverage for professional services and healthcare providers and facilities. We are currently seeking a Consulting Director to lead Claims Strategy and Execution projects and initiatives for these segments. This individual contributor role will work across Professional Services and Healthcare segments: Architects & Engineers, Accounting, Program & Large Law, and Real Estate Professionals as well as Allied Healthcare Facilities, Aging Services, and Allied Health Providers.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Collaborates with and influences senior leadership in the development and implementation of Claims strategies and processes.
- Acts as claims technical expert on behalf of their organization/lines of business to key business partner in order to diagnose and take action on improvement opportunities within LOB.
- Provides technical claims support to business partners to mobilize on 'quick wins and key strategic initiatives.'
- Drives improvement of Claim policies, business strategies and goals, regularly evaluating performance against goals, and holding team accountable for achieving desired results.
- Manages outcomes through implementation of cross-functional strategy execution progress reviews.
- Acts as point person to identify, scale, and implement development materials for staff and impact talent management.
- Drives communication and plans within organization from functional Claims areas and key business partners including Finance, Actuary and Underwriting.
- Works within LOB to establish consistency in core processes and tools to drive claims outcomes.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.

- Senior level knowledge of insurance and claims principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent critical-thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast paced, cross-functional environment with the ability to create and manage work plans across multiple work streams, owners, and teams.
- Ability to identify and address barriers to execution and drive outcomes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to effectively design and run group meetings and large workshops.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and other business-related software especially in working with exporting data from various databases and compiling reports in MS Excel and other software tools.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred, in related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience. Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance strongly preferred, Professional Services Liability and/or Healthcare Medical Malpractice experience is a plus.

Salary
In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois , Maryland , Massachusetts , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
