Job summary

Amex GBT seeks an ambitious consultant to join our US-based delivery team, focusing on hotel strategy, sourcing, and optimization. You will manage several client projects, apply hotel program know-how, and guide change management for lasting impact.

You will leverage Cvent, Tableau/Power BI, and Excel to deliver insights, communicate effectively with clients, and identify opportunities for upsell while supporting a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a hotel strategy, revenue management, sourcing and/or optimization role
  • Knowledge of strategy, financial/business operations, cost management
  • Experience in the travel industry is preferred
  • Hotel Platform Expertise: experience managing hotel programs through platforms such as Cvent and related sourcing tools
  • Data Visualization Proficiency: Tableau, Birst, Power BI, or similar platforms
  • Microsoft Office Mastery: Excel and PowerPoint
  • Analytical Skills: ability to think conceptually, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions using data interpretation and presentation
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: ability to develop and deliver compelling internal and external presentations
  • Curious with a learner mentality, interest in AI and automation tools
  • Highly client-focused with attention to detail and quality delivery

We’re looking for an ambitious consultant to join our delivery team based in the US.

Primary area of focus for the position will be related to the Hotel practice line which spans corporate hotel program strategy design and execution including sourcing, program compliance, and optimization. This person will manage several consulting project workstreams across multiple clients. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with project management and hotel industry experience, comfortable working in a remote environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Multi-Workstream Engagements: Execute consulting projects across multiple clients, prioritizing objectives and applying project management methodologies to deliver results within scope, quality standards, and timelines

  • Apply Hotel Subject Matter Expertise: Leverage of hotel program strategy, sourcing, and technology (Cvent, AI) to drive client program optimization and compliance

  • Distill Complex Strategy into Key Messages: Communicate sophisticated subject matter clearly to team members and clients, translating analysis into actionable insights

  • Manage Global Supplier Relationships: Lead supplier partnerships while representing both client and consultancy interests, navigating complex negotiations and maintaining strategic alignment

  • Drive Client Value & Retention: Successfully navigate global organizations, articulate project value to all stakeholder levels, and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to drive revenue growth

  • Implement Organizational Change: Apply change management techniques to drive sustainable engagement impact, ensuring client adoption and long-term program success

What We’re Looking For
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a hotel strategy, revenue management, sourcing and/or optimization role

  • Microsoft Office Mastery: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with strong concentration in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to think conceptually, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions using data interpretation and presentation

  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling internal and external presentations to diverse audiences

  • Curious with a learner mentality, with demonstrated interest in emerging technologies including AI and automation tools

  • Highly client-focused with exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to quality delivery, and the ability to anticipate and exceed stakeholder expectations

The US national base salary range for this position is from

$60,200.00 – $111,800.00

The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
