Job summary

Oracle in Reston, Virginia is seeking an experienced Consulting Technical Manager – AI Database Developer to design, develop, and optimize Oracle database solutions and AI-enabled data platforms for enterprise-scale mission systems. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with poly and an in-person presence at the Reston office.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with poly or ability to obtain
• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related
• 10 years of experience in database development, data engineering, or ETL/ELT for enterprise-scale systems
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database design, development, and optimization
• Advanced SQL/PL/SQL skills including procedures, packages, complex queries, performance tuning
• Experience designing scalable data pipelines with transformation, validation, error handling, and monitoring
• Experience with geospatial data (vector/map formats) and multiple data formats (relational, spatial, JSON, graph)
• Hands-on work with vector embeddings, vector data types, similarity search, and RAG workflows
• Familiarity with MCP for connecting AI apps to data sources/tools
• Experience with OCI/AWS/Azure/Google Cloud
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes
• Proficiency in Python or shell scripting for automation
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, and secure data handling
• Ability to collaborate with data scientists, DBAs, developers, and stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills
