Sector Leader – Consulting Actuary (Multiemployer Plans)

Bolton is seeking a senior-level Consulting Actuary to serve as Sector Leader for our Multiemployer Retirement Practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned consultant who is ready to take ownership of sector strategy, client leadership, and team development within a growing and respected actuarial firm.

As Sector Leader, you will guide the direction of the multiemployer sector, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and play a key role in driving innovation, operational excellence, and business development. You will be positioned as both a strategic leader within Bolton and a respected expert in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership and Consulting

• Lead actuarial engagements and oversee complex client projects
• Build and manage long-term client relationships with plan sponsors and trustees
• Serve as the main point of contact for key multiemployer clients
• Stay informed on relevant regulations, legislation, and industry trends

Sector Strategy and Operations

• Shape and implement strategic plans to drive sector growth and efficiency
• Collaborate across the firm to identify cross-selling opportunities and deliver integrated solutions
• Develop sector forecasts, identify emerging client needs, and drive innovation
• Represent Bolton at industry conferences, client events, and professional associations

Talent Development and Team Management

• Mentor and develop consultants within the multiemployer practice
• Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Partner with firm leadership on staffing, training, and performance management
• Provide guidance and technical oversight to ensure high-quality deliverables

Qualifications

• 15+ years of actuarial experience, including significant work with multiemployer pension plans
• 10+ years in a senior consulting or leadership capacity
• Enrolled Actuary or ASA required; FSA strongly preferred
• Strong client communication, business development, and project management skills
• Proven ability to lead teams and navigate complex client needs
• Thought leadership and visibility in the retirement industry preferred
