Job description

Robeco is seeking to recruit a Senior Consultant Relations professional who will focus on building relationships with domestic consulting firms based in North America to help drive business and build the region’s AUM. Additionally this professional will partner with the Global Consultant Relations team, based in London and The Netherlands, to drive regional business with the Global Consulting firms specifically through the development of field consultant relationships. The successful candidate will be highly experienced and dynamic, as well as capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues across the organization.

Position & Requirements

Work closely with the North American Institutional team to develop and implement Robeco’s domestic Consultant Relations Strategy as well as coordinate closely with the Global CR team to support global CR initiatives;

Develop appropriate and lasting relationships with relevant research and field consultants at domestic consulting firms;

Drive the firm’s engagement with field consultants at the global firms in an effort to leverage positive consultant ratings to drive new business;

Develop and grow the relationships with the fiduciary arms of domestic consulting firms;

Support the broader effort and strategy of the Global CR team;

Bring the perspective of domestic consultants into the development of new products and strategies;

Develop strong working relationships with the investment professionals globally and other relevant internal stakeholders / departments, sharing information to achieve a coordinated sales effort;

Provide feedback and input on market developments to the broader Robeco Group;

Serve as an ambassador for the firm and be viewed by clients / consultants as a senior-level firm representative;

Attend (when appropriate) industry events / conferences;

Support the Head of Sales in developing the domestic sales plan, aligned with the Robeco strategy;

Broaden and strengthen relationship via sharing thought pieces, marketing materials, event invites etc.

The Candidate Ideal Experience

  • 10+ years in consultant relations within the US & Canada with deep relationships in the region.
  • Demonstrated track record of success building relationships with domestic / global research teams and field consultants.
  • A strong understanding of the evolving dynamics in the consulting marketplace, including the needs of end clients within different channels.
  • Substantial technical knowledge of different investment products / strategies and vehicles; experience with quantitative products is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly understand and articulate Robeco’s investment strategy, differentiating factors, and competitive advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented sales environment in which sharing information and collaboration is essential for success.
  • Strong presence, perspective, and competence that engenders trust and confidence within the institutional investor community.
  • A positive, collegial attitude and high level of professionalism.
  • Willingness for substantial travel to meet with clients and prospects.

Education and Credentials

  • CFA and / or MBA degree strongly preferred
  • BA / BS required
  • Clear U-4 and clear compliance record
