Job summary

Ladders seeks a Consultant, Program Underwriting (Fronting & Alternative Risk Transfer) to join its finance and insurance team. You will underwrite complex program business, partner with underwriting, sales, and reinsurers to evaluate risk and drive profitable growth, and mentor junior staff.

The role is remote for US-based candidates, with no visa sponsorship. You will refine guidelines, manage portfolio decisions, and help implement underwriting procedures while collaborating across business

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in professional, financial, or specialty lines underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of multi-line P&C business, including liability and property underwriting.
• Experience with deductible policies and reinsuring to captives.
• Familiarity with facultative reinsurance and complex risk analysis.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Risk Management; graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and underwriting relationships for program products and services.
• Analyze program manager relationships and recommend corrective actions.
• Review and underwrite complex individual risks and programs.
• Engage with reinsurers to verify appropriate use of reinsurance facilities.

For our client, we are seeking a Consultant, Program Underwriting (Fronting & Alternative Risk Transfer) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role is focused on underwriting complex program business within a specialized finance and insurance environment, with an emphasis on fronting and alternative risk transfer solutions. You will partner across underwriting, sales, and reinsurance relationships to evaluate risk, support profitable growth, and strengthen program execution. The position also requires close collaboration with business partners to refine guidelines, manage portfolio decisions, and mentor less experienced team members.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000+ annually
