About the Role

MathCo is seeking a commercially minded Pharma and Life Sciences Customer Success Consultant to drive account growth, strengthen strategic client relationships, and oversee the success of key engagements across pharmaceutical and biotech clients.

This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, developing a deep understanding of their business priorities and connecting those needs to MathCo’s analytics, AI, GenAI, and data solutions.

The ideal candidate will combine strong Pharma or Life Sciences expertise with consulting, relationship management, and business development experience. The role is primarily focused on revenue growth and account expansion, with responsibility for maintaining delivery quality, client satisfaction, and long-term partnership success.

The position may be hired at the Engagement Manager or Associate Principal level based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth and Account Expansion — 50%
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships across Pharma and Life Sciences accounts.
  • Develop a strong understanding of each client’s organization, strategic priorities, challenges, and decision-making structure.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities and create account growth strategies for existing clients.
  • Lead account planning, opportunity identification, pipeline development, and long-term partnership planning.
  • Translate client business needs into analytics, AI, GenAI, and data solution opportunities.
  • Partner with sales, consulting, data science, engineering, and delivery teams to shape and position solutions.
  • Support proposal development, business cases, solution design, and engagement planning.
  • Use Pharma domain knowledge to identify opportunities across areas such as commercial analytics, brand analytics, patient analytics, market access, market research, and therapeutic‑area strategy.
  • Develop relationships across client functions, including Commercial, Brand, Data Science, Market Research, Market Access, Medical, and Enterprise Analytics.
  • Manage account health, stakeholder engagement, growth pipeline, and escalation paths in partnership with internal leadership.
Delivery and Client Success Oversight — 50%
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure engagements meet client expectations and achieve measurable business outcomes.
  • Define project scope, success measures, stakeholder expectations, and desired outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between senior client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.
  • Ensure delivery plans remain aligned with client priorities, timelines, and strategic goals.
  • Guide cross‑functional teams of managers, consultants, data scientists, engineers, and analysts.
  • Translate complex findings into clear insights, recommendations, and “so what” and “now what” narratives for senior leaders.
  • Monitor client satisfaction, solution adoption, and value realization.
  • Proactively identify and address delivery risks, engagement concerns, and potential escalations.
  • Support long‑term client continuity by identifying opportunities to improve or expand existing work.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
  • Mentor internal teams in consulting, problem‑solving, executive communication, and client management.
  • Lead large, cross‑functional programs involving client and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively across Commercial, Customer Success, Consulting, Data Science, Engineering, and Delivery teams.
  • Coordinate across distributed teams, global delivery models, and multiple time zones.
  • Promote ownership, accountability, collaboration, and high‑quality execution.
Required Qualifications
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience in consulting, analytics, customer success, account management, business development, data science, or the Life Sciences industry.
  • Demonstrated success growing strategic accounts or expanding existing client relationships.
  • Experience managing executive‑level relationships in complex, fast‑paced environments.
  • Proven ability to identify, shape, and convert new business opportunities.
  • Strong consulting skills, including problem structuring, stakeholder management, executive communication, and insight development.
  • Experience translating business challenges into analytics, AI, or data‑driven solutions.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and clearly communicate strategic implications and recommended actions.
  • Experience managing account strategy, account health, resource planning, and client escalations.
  • Experience leading large, cross‑functional programs involving senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with global or offshore delivery teams.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to change, and create clarity in evolving environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Pharma commercial analytics, including one or more of the following:
  • Oncology, immunology, or neurology analytics
  • Patient analytics
  • General medicine or specialty therapeutic areas
  • Brand or omnichannel analytics
  • Market research
  • Forecasting
  • Market access
  • Product launch strategy
  • Experience supporting large pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech companies, or Pharma‑focused consulting organizations.
  • Experience with AI, GenAI, advanced analytics, enterprise data platforms, or digital transformation.
  • Previous experience with a consulting firm, analytics services company, technology consulting organization, or Fortune 500 company.
  • Established relationships within the Pharma or Life Sciences ecosystem.
  • Experience working across Commercial, Brand, Data Science, Market Research, Medical, Market Access, or Enterprise Analytics functions.
  • Advanced degree, MBA, or Life Sciences‑related academic background.
Education
  • Master’s degree from a strong academic institution, or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent relevant professional experience.
