Job description

Asymmetry Group is a small yet rapidly growing strategy consulting firm – included for the third year in a row on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the US and named an Inc. Best Workplaces 2025 firm – that helps the world’s leading biotechnology, digital health, and medical device companies commercialize innovative therapeutics and technologies. Our clients range from early-stage Series A companies to $100B+ market cap biopharmaceutical companies. We are proud that all of the clients we serve have requested follow-on work. We cannot achieve this without an amazing team.

Asymmetry was acquired in October 2025 by the Danforth Health family of companies that collectively serve biopharmaceutical clients from inception through commercialization of products via a broad set of capabilities and offerings.

We are seeking a full-time experienced Consultant to join our team to contribute to client projects and play a key role in shaping our firm’s future through internal initiatives. Depending on the day, week, or month, you might be working on the launch of a new rare disease product, developing a commercial plan to support a breakthrough Phase 3 asset, running client workshops, or engaging with the leadership team of a digital health company on how to differentiate their offer in the market. We’re looking for a highly motivated, proactive doer who is experienced in life sciences strategy consulting. There will be some travel – but it’s generally limited.

What can we offer you?
  • Meaningful Work: We deliver high-quality, pragmatic work to the most innovative healthcare companies out there – we work for clients and on projects that we are passionate about, and that we believe have the potential to bring real advances to healthcare
  • Strong Team & Culture: We foster a small, collegial organization that takes the best characteristics of consulting to create a supportive culture – we work hard, but we believe in integrating work/life in the way that matters most to our individual employees. Our incredible team is the backbone of what we do, and we are committed to maintaining a culture that supports them (and you!)
  • Growth & Development: We strive to individualize team member development. All team members have different strengths and skill sets; we tailor career progression based on your specific interests and needs, and we recognize and promote on true merit rather than anchor to fixed time periods
  • Strong Compensation: We offer industry-competitive salary and bonus, 401k, healthcare / dental / vision LTD/AD&D, and a flexible time-off policy
  • Broad Capabilities: As part of Danforth Health, we have access to an incredibly broad and deep set of capabilities that enable us to better serve our clients across their varied needs
Role Duties & Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve a wide range of activities, roles & responsibilities can be fluid, and success will require a willingness and agility to learn and adapt quickly. The role will naturally evolve based on firm and client needs, as well as your own individual capabilities. However, the following are representative areas where the Consultant will play a key role:

  • Direct support of strategic client engagements, potentially including: research & analysis; thought partnership internally and with the client; PowerPoint document creation and storytelling; workshop facilitation; market assessments; forecast development; etc.
  • Leading full workstreams within a project (e.g., developing a launch plan, designing the customer experience for a new product, developing a customer segmentation, etc.)
  • Managing and developing Analysts / Sr Analysts on project workstreams, and communicating clearly and proactively with peers and Managers
  • Serving as a Development Manager to more junior members of the firm
  • Proactive recognition of industry trends, and their impact on our clients and our business
  • Firm marketing, including blog posts, thought leadership and coordination of partner and industry events
Essential Qualifications
  • 3-4 years professional experience in life sciences strategy consulting
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite, primarily PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, as well as Smartsheet
  • Must be able to create a clear, logical “narrative” and share it through strong storytelling slides in PPT
  • Self-starter, curious, proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, with a healthy dose of agility
  • Ability to distill complex analyses and topics into structured, focused and simple takeaways
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort with, and success in, managing and developing analysts
  • Exemplify the Asymmetry behaviors of showing up professionally, consistently demonstrating a growth mindset, assuming good intent of others, and making those around you better
  • Able to travel for client meetings locally, nationally and internationally
  • Undergrad degree in a relevant discipline – business, biology, economics, etc.
  • US work authorization to work at Asymmetry Group without additional or future sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline – Masters or Ph.D.
  • Desire for hybrid work environment (our team is in-office Tuesday-Thursday, with optional work-from-home on Monday and Friday, subject to client commitments)
  • Candidates local to the Boston, New York, or Philadelphia areas (primary office is in Newton, MA; smaller offices in midtown Manhattan and the greater Philadelphia area)
Compensation

The annualized salary range for this role is between $125,000 - $170,000, plus an incentive bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary based on several factors including role-related qualifications such as skills, knowledge, total experience, and education. The role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as health benefits, 401k, etc.
