This position supports Canadian distribution compliance and licensing continuity, including provincial licensing considerations, agent and distributor hierarchy administration, agent onboarding workflows, recurring onboarding reporting, digital sales tool and portal issue resolution, and procedure documentation necessary to sustain compliant distribution operations.

Job Responsibilities

Provide subject matter expertise on licensing, appointment, and compliance quality assurance activities for individuals and entities in accordance with company requirements and applicable United States and Canadian regulations.

Identify, establish, and strengthen key business relationships; provide consultative guidance to business partners and serve as a point of contact for licensing, appointment, and compliance matters.

Interpret applicable state, provincial and federal requirements, and operational trends to recommend best practices and support effective, fact-based decision making.

Solve complex problems by taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions where change is needed; resolve operational issues by seeking to understand root causes, recommending solutions, implementing agreed-upon actions, and communicating progress.

Lead functional teams or projects impacting Licensing with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity, using effective project management, team building, and change management practices to execute initiatives and achieve business results.

Identify and map gaps, controls, risks, and process dependencies across business compliance, licensing, and appointment activities.

Create quality control systems, testing practices, training resources, and monitoring processes to support adherence to company policies and applicable state and federal regulatory requirements.

Assist in the preparation and presentation of compliance risk, quality assurance results, licensing and appointment trends, reporting, and related recommendations for business and compliance leaders.

Support agent onboarding and distributor readiness activities, including active, pended, and potential agent tracking; onboarding issue resolution; hierarchy setup validation; and escalation of licensing, appointment, system, or access issues.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, checklists, escalation paths, training materials, and recurring status reporting to preserve critical knowledge and support consistent licensing, appointment, onboarding, and distribution compliance processes.

Support Canadian insurance distribution and licensing processes, including provincial regulatory requirements, agent and distributor hierarchy structures, Canada General Agency model considerations, and specialized Canadian distribution programs.

The above statement of duties is not intended to be all inclusive and other duties will be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, compliance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related professional work experience.

6+ years of demonstrated proficiency working in financial services, insurance, investment, compliance, or related industry.

3+ years of demonstrated experience working in licensing, appointment, insurance compliance, quality assurance, reporting, metrics, user acceptance testing, or related compliance processes.

Strong project management, process improvement, change management, organization, prioritization, training, stakeholder engagement, and technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Lexis, and relevant licensing, appointment, workflow, or reporting systems.

Proven ability to clearly and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to design and deliver effective presentations to varied audiences and support fact-based decision making.

Demonstrated relationship management and consulting skills, including the ability to effectively influence, persuade, challenge assumptions, work cross-functionally, coach sponsors and key stakeholders, exercise discretion and sound judgment, and work independently with minimal guidance.

Specialized depth and breadth of expertise across business areas, compliance activities, licensing, appointment, quality assurance, operational controls, issue management, control testing, monitoring, and process improvement in a corporate setting.

Knowledge of company insurance and non‑insurance product offerings, distribution models, company structure, customer experience considerations, and related compliance obligations.
