Job summary

Lockheed Martin Consulting is expanding an internal capability to diagnose operational performance gaps and translate findings into actionable improvements across production and support functions. The role emphasizes data-driven root cause analyses, line balancing, and capacity analysis to accelerate throughput and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in consulting, internal consulting, manufacturing operations, or a related analytical role.
• Proven ability to structure complex problems, analyze data, and drive actionable recommendations.
• Experience leading key components of projects.
• Strong proficiency in Excel for modeling and analysis; familiarity with Python, SQL, Tableau, or other analytics tools is a plus.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience in operational environments, including collaboration with frontline teams.
• Ability to travel as needed to support projects across sites.

Responsibilities

• Support the diagnosis of operational performance gaps by analyzing end-to-end processes and helping identify bottlenecks, constraints, and sources of variability across production and support functions.
• Conduct data-driven root cause analyses (e.g., yield loss, downtime, rework, cycle time variation) and help translate findings into actionable improvement opportunities.
• Assist in optimizing throughput and flow by applying foundational concepts such as capacity analysis, line balancing, and constraint identification.
• Support cost and productivity improvement initiatives by analyzing labor, waste, and efficiency drivers across manufacturing and support operations.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of Lean and continuous improvement solutions, including standard work, visual management, and daily management systems.
• Support production planning and scheduling improvements, including analysis of sequencing logic, WIP levels, and on-time delivery performance.
• Work closely with frontline teams on the shop floor to understand current processes, test ideas, and support implementation of improvements.
• Help develop performance management tools, including KPIs, dashboards, and reporting routines to track operational performance.
• Support digital and systems initiatives, including data collection, MES enhancements, and automation of reporting processes.
• Help quantify impact of initiatives by tracking improvements in key metrics such as throughput, cycle time, utilization, and cost per unit.
• Build foundational capabilities in problem-solving and continuous improvement by working closely with operators, supervisors, and project leaders.

What You Will Be Doing

Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader with flexibility for additional hours expected based on workload

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

• Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
