Responsibilities

Construction Worker

Salary Range: $20.00 To $25.00 Hourly

About the Role

STRATA Networks is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Construction Worker to help build and maintain the telecommunications infrastructure connecting our communities. This hands-on role supports underground and aerial cable installation, fiber-optic construction, and site maintenance. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

Assist equipment operators with loading, unloading, and distributing construction materials.

Install and maintain underground and aerial telecommunications cable and fiber infrastructure.

Dig trenches, expose existing utilities, and operate hand tools and assigned equipment.

Assist with backfilling, roadway patching, and construction site cleanup.

Set up traffic control devices and maintain safe work zones.

Assist with equipment cleaning, fueling, greasing, and minor repairs.

Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety procedures.

Complete other duties as assigned by the Crew Lead or Supervisor.

What You Bring to the Team

To be successful, you’ll need:

A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

The ability to safely operate assigned equipment and tools or learn as needed.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Basic computer skills and the ability to follow construction plans and instructions.

A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

The ability to pass a required drug screening.

Availability for on-call assignments, weekends, holidays, varying shifts, and out-of-town work.

Work Environment and Conditions

Outdoor work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, and mud.

Work near streets, highways, construction equipment, and active traffic.

Irregular hours, with shifts potentially reaching 10–15 hours during peak construction season.

Physical Demands

Perform strenuous physical work, including lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 100 pounds.

Operate hand tools and power equipment.

Bend, kneel, walk on uneven terrain, and enter or exit trenches, manholes, and vaults.
