Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to support federal projects in Alabama. The role focuses on welding inspection, coating inspection, and adherence to plans and specifications at construction sites.

The candidate must hold AWS CWI, ASNT/NDT credentials, and coating inspection qualifications (NACE/SSPC Level I or higher). Experience with RMS and QA/Safety programs is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen and pass federal background review and drug screen.
• Minimum 5 years of construction welding inspection experience.
• Minimum 2 years of coating inspection and structural bolting inspection experience.
• AWS CWI per AWS QC1 with ≥5 years in steel fabrication.
• NDT qualification per ASNT; NACE/SSPC Level I coating inspector with ≥2 years in coatings.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report on federal facility construction projects for compliance with plans and specs.
• Inspect welding on steel fabrication.
• Follow shop practices including storage, cutting, bending, machining, fit-up, surface prep, welding, bolting, erection and coatings.
• Inspect coating systems and testing methods.
• Inspect structural bolting methods and installation.
• Review change orders, RFIs, and submittals; monitor project schedule.
• Ensure QA and safety plans are followed; monitor contractor.
