Job summary

Zachry Construction Corporation is seeking Utility Laborers to perform tasks involving physical labor on heavy highway, road, and bridge construction projects in Texas.

You will load and unload materials, assist concrete and drainage crews, flag traffic, set up traffic control, operate hand and power tools, and maintain a safe, clean site. Relocation may be required for ongoing opportunities; Zachry offers competitive benefits and growth potential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of heavy construction labor experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• General labor skills in a construction setting.
• Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools.
• Flagging and traffic control certification preferred.
• Willingness to work day and/or night shifts.
• Physically fit for hard manual labor.
• Competency with shovel and chipping hammer.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical labor on construction projects
• Assist concrete, drainage, and retaining wall crews as needed
• Load and unload materials
• Flag traffic near work zones
• Set up and maintain traffic control
• Operate hand and power tools as required
• Keep sites clean and hazard-free
• Work in varying weather conditions
• Follow safety guidelines in the company safety program
• Enter mixer to chip as required
