Job summary

Sinte Gleska University is seeking a faculty member to provide instruction in the Construction Trades program and to advance curriculum development, student advising, and program assessment. The role fosters a culturally responsive learning environment and supports the Institute of Technologies Department and its mission.

The candidate will teach, advise, and participate in budget planning, accreditation, and community engagement, while maintaining records and contributing to ongoing program

Qualifications

• Certificate in Construction trades or building trades required.
• Preferred: Associate of Applied Science in construction trades or equivalent.
• 5–10+ years of professional experience in a related industry field.
• Five years of teaching experience in higher education or equivalent instructional experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with Native American students and Lakota communities.

Responsibilities

• Teach Construction Trades courses in accordance with the SGU full-time faculty contract.
• Develop, plan, and submit course schedules for each academic semester with Department Chair/Director.
• Prepare and submit program budgets in a timely manner with Department Chair/Director.
• Maintain professional communication with students, faculty, staff, and the public per SGU policies.
• Collaborate with department colleagues to support goals and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate student degree plans and records throughout the year.
• Attend required professional development, departmental and institutional meetings.
• Engage in student recruitment, advising and related support activities.
