Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a Construction Technician to support engineering projects at the Hampton Project Office in St. Louis, MO. This role performs basic construction testing, prepares change orders, and assists in inspections under moderate supervision.

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification is required within 90 days.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsabilidades

• Performs basic construction tests such as air, slump, moisture, compaction, aggregate gradation, and density; reports results to supervisor.
• Performs measurements, computations, or other work in preparing final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates.
• Assists in inspection of bituminous and Portland cement concrete plants and/or grading, base, bituminous or concrete paving.
• Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to inspections; keeps supervisor informed of activities or unusual conditions; ensures projects meet department standards.
• Enters and records information regarding construction projects into computer programs.

• Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment.
• Basic math skills, consistent with high school level algebra, will be necessary to perform many of this title’s duties.
• Job may require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.
