Job summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking candidates for a CAREER-LADDER position in the Southwest District at the Springfield location. The role covers routine maintenance, renovations, and repairs of department facilities under supervision, with opportunities for advancement without a traditional interview cycle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HiSET.
• Two years equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience in a building repair and maintenance field such as carpentry, electrical wiring, facilities operation and management, HVAC, or related.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance to building interiors and plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems.
• Assist with complex building repairs and renovations.
• Build and assemble cabinets, shelving, counter tops, bookcases, tables and baseboards; move and assemble furniture and partitions.
• Perform outdoor maintenance such as landscaping, mowing, and snow removal.
• May install and service liquid chlorine and salt brine pumps at salt buildings.

Successful candidates with the above qualifications will be considered for one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Entry salary - $ 41,685.12
• Intermediate salary - $48,621.60
• Senior salary - $52,511.52
