ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Charlotte, NC. No previous experience is needed as paid training is provided along with coverage for certification fees.

The CMT Field Technician will conduct field activities, execute tasks based on project requirements, and maintain communication with site contractors and team members. Ideal candidates should possess a high school diploma and have the ability to lift heavy materials.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift at least 85 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Willingness to learn and obtain necessary certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field activities including observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete.
• Execute tasks based on project requirements under guidance of senior technicians.
• Perform routine field and laboratory tests using industry standards.
• Collect data, perform calculations, and handle drafting and administrative duties as needed.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors and team members; attend meetings; manage field equipment.
• Receive training in ECS methodology; document findings with precision.

• Participate in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities (OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, State DOTs, WACEL, etc.).

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Willingness to learn heavy construction safety practices.
• Willingness to obtain CMT and ASTM certifications.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills.
