Farnsworth Group is seeking a Construction Technician/Engineer in one of the following locations. Qualified candidates could be full-time or part-time/seasonal and will perform construction engineering and management services in the Central Illinois region, working on road and bridge projects.
Posting Locations: Bloomington, Champaign, Peoria, Pontiac, IL
Job Activities:
- Visit construction sites to ensure quality control, adherence to plans and specifications, and compliance with local/state regulations.
- Review plans for constructability alongside engineers and project managers.
- Perform quality control reviews of design documents, including plans and specifications.
- Attend meetings with clients and project managers to exchange information.
- Monitor construction schedules to ensure timely project completion.
- Observe testing procedures and prepare reports.
- Document activities through written reports and communications.
Specific Requirements:
- 5-10 years or equivalent related experience.
- Associate's in Civil Engineering Technology or Bachelor's in Construction Management/Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience with IDOT and/or ISHTA construction Phase 3 - CM is required.
- Experience with local agency and federally funded construction projects is preferred.
- Active IDOT Documentation Certification is desired.
- Other IDOT Construction Certifications are desirable.
- Strong knowledge of documentation requirements and inspection procedures.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
