Job description

Entry Level Position with Training Provided - responsible for all types of Network Construction, Aerial, Underground, and MDU. Assists and supports the Construction organization in daily work procedures.

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Move, secure, load/unload cable equipment, tools, or other materials as directed in plans or by supervisor.

Dig holes, trenches, fill holes, bury conduit and cables, and restore trenches and holes.

Pull lasher, strand, and cable from pole to pole.

Perform traffic control and/or flagging, as necessary.

Adhere to industry-specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.

Follow and adhere to Aerial, Underground, MDU, B/A procedures, specifications, and contractor standards.

Understand and follow all safety requirements and standards.

Operate and maintain crew vehicles.

Follow all company policies and procedures.

Understand Charter's strand routing and design maps, and map symbology for supporting UG, MDU, and Aerial Construction.

Understand construction materials, equipment, related tools, and hand tools for Aerial, Underground, and MDU projects.

Clean work premises of debris and materials.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

• Vision: close, peripheral, and ability to differentiate wire sizes and colors.
• Safe operation of assigned equipment, complying with standards.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely.
• Climb and operate extension ladders (~28 ft, 75 lbs).
• Climb poles using gaffs, hooks, and belts (up to 350 lbs).
• Work in confined spaces: crawling, bending, reaching, twisting.
• Travel to/from work sites, including in bad weather.
• Work outdoors for extended periods, in any weather.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with computer systems and software.
• Accurate documentation skills.

Required Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory record.

Related Work Experience

• Entry level - training provided, no experience necessary.

Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

• Ability to obtain necessary licenses for security services (if applicable).
• Basic math and electronic testing knowledge (e.g., ohm meters).
• Effective prioritization and organization skills.
• Possession or ability to obtain CDL.
• Proficiency with personal computer and software applications.
