Job summary

Monrovia Plants is seeking a Construction Team Leader to guide the on-site crew through diverse nursery projects, coordinating tasks and delivering results with strong teamwork.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years as a Construction Craftsman, solid tools knowledge, and the ability to communicate well in a bilingual (Spanish/English) environment. Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn new skills in a collaborative setting are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience as Construction Craftsman or related role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and tasks.
  • Punctual, highly organized, and reliable.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly desirable.
  • Must have basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Experience driving tractor, forklift or heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the construction coach and craftsman on capital projects across the nursery.
  • Estimates equipment, tools and materials needed for the job.
  • Builds, dismantles and repairs structures, walls, roofs, glass and siding.
  • Coordinates assignments and leads labor to complete tasks.
  • Terrace repair and maintenance as needed.
  • Performs other duties to support the company mission.

Job description

Summary

The Construction Team Leader will use their skills to lead the construction team to complete various projects throughout the nursery.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with construction coach and construction craftsman concerning capital projects and other projects throughout the nursery.
  • Estimates equipment, tools and other materials required for the job.
  • Builds, dismantles and repairs structures, walls, roofs, glass and siding as assigned.
  • Coordinate assignments and lead labor assigned to accomplish task.
  • Terrace repair and maintenance as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the company as assigned.
Supervision To Be Received

Reports to the Construction Coach

  • Must have a basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Open to feedback.
  • Punctual and highly organized.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and jobs.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English highly desirable.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment and being supportive of co-workers.
  • Excellent driving skills and ideally, experience driving a tractor, forklift or heavy equipment.
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills.
Education And Experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience as Construction Craftsman or related job.
