Classification: Nonexempt
Reports to: Construction Coach
Nursery: Georgia
Essential Functions
- Maintains roads and ditches in all divisions.
- Perform terrace and bed preparation.
- Repairs greenhouses
- Performs daily maintenance on loaders and other construction equipment.

Required Skills And Education
- Excellent driving record.
- Expert use of tractor, loader, grader, motor scraper, and bulldozer.
- Experience with excavator and excavating skills.
- Ability to use laser equipment to lay off beds for production.
- Basic maintenance skills for tractor, loader, and other heavy equipment.
- No specific education is required.

Work Environment
- This job is performed outdoors in inclement weather (hot, cold, and rainy) conditions.
- The craftsman is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, odors or airborne particles.
- The Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate within the proximity; canning machines, tractors, and other heavy equipment may be operating at the same time.
- There is constant traffic surrounding this work environment including vehicles, tractors, and heavy equipment.
Physical Demands

- While performing the duties of this job, the craftsman is regularly required to have a full range of mobility in the upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions; including stooping; standing, walking, bending over, squatting for extended periods; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; be able to frequently lift a minimum of 30 lbs. of weight and occasionally lift 50 or more pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.
- The craftsman is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle plants or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The craftsman is required to perform repetitive body movements for 8 to 10 hours per day which include standing, walking, lifting, squatting, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and expected hours of work
This is a full-time position; hours of work are Monday – Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am – 12:00 pm during off-season. During shipping season additional work hours may apply depending on the business needs.
