Responsibilities

• Conduct daily area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA's, and related safety tasks.
• Adjust spray bar width and flow to achieve required coverage.
• Coordinate with paving machine operator to ensure proper distribution of material.
• Monitor equipment gauges and maintain lubrication as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Tack Truck Driver will be responsible for operating a specalized vechile to transport and distribute tack oil or other materials used in road construction projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
• Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA's, TRAK, etc.).
• Snap onscrew on spray bars to attain required width of spray.
• Turn valve to regulate flow of material at specified rate.
• Move levers to adjust heights of spray bar from road surfaces.
• Signals paving machine operator to start paving machine.
• Observe distribution of material over road surfaces to ensure uniform distribution.
• Turn hand wheels to set angle and depth of screed.
• Verify depth specifications of compacted asphalt using depth gauge.
• Monitor flow gauges, tachometer, and temperature gauges.
• Oil and lubricate equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid CDL, Class B licensea clean MVR, and must pass a DOT physical.
• Must submit to a drug screen, criminal background check and DOT physical.
• Knowledge of DOT and CDL regulations.
• Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours, at various locations.

Education/Experience

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience operating an asphalt tack truck.
• 1-2 years of previous construction and paving experience preferred.
