Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) in Rapid City to support Department of the Air ForceSecurity for SCIF and SAP construction projects. You will monitor construction, photograph progress, and document steps to support final accreditation packets.

The role emphasizes threat identification, incident reporting, and adherence to SOPs, with required Secret clearance and willingness to pursue TS/SCI with CI polygraph.

Qualifications

• 1+ years related experience.
• Secret clearance required and willingness to obtain TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
• Complete safety training within 30 days of hire.
• CDSE ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements within 30 days of hire.

Job description

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a CST joining our team to provide security support to the Department of the Air Force.

The CST's primary function is to provide day to day security in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) & Special Access Program (SAP) construction efforts.

Performance shall include:

• Assesses, identifies and communicates recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
• Identifies threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
• Drafts security incident reports and briefs government and civilian agencies including military senior leaders.
• Manages uniformed escort personnel and associated logs; assigns, trains, briefs site security duties and ensures timely reporting of security incidents to site lead.
• Follow and enforce customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative
• Shall conduct inspections of materials being delivered for utilization in construction of secure spaces.
• Will photograph and continuously monitor the construction of secure spaces and document all steps in order to support final accreditation packets.

Experience:

• 1+ years related experience.

Desired Experience:

• Knowledgeable on Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 (on SCIFs and compliance with uniform IC physical and technical security requirements)

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree is desired and counts towards 4 years of experience. Associates degree counts towards 2 years of experience.

Experience Education Equivalents:

• Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
• Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
• Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years.

Security Clearance:

• Secret required
• Must be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI with a CI polygraph

Other Requirements:

• Complete additional safety training and/or certification as required by local site (i.e., OSHA 10 Construction Safety, OSHA Fall Protection and OSHA Confined Space) within the first 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain CDSE STEPP ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements for SAP course completion within the first 30 days of hire.
