Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) II to support SCIF and SAP construction security. You will help ensure security, safety, and compliance on mission-critical sites.

You will monitor construction, document steps for accreditation, lead a security team, and enforce SOPs while coordinating with government and contractor personnel. TS/SCI clearance and polygraph willingness are required; SAP experience is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years related experience.
• SAP experience required.
• ICD 705 SCIF compliance knowledge desired.
• TS/SCI clearance and willingness for CI polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Assess threats and communicate recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
• Identify threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
• Draft security incident reports and briefs government and civilian agencies including military senior leaders.
• Manage escort personnel and logs; train site security duties and ensure timely reporting of security incidents to site lead.
• Follow and enforce customers’ SOPs.
• Conduct inspections of materials for secure spaces construction.
• Photograph and document construction for accreditation packets.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and oversight of team members.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a CST II you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. The CST II's primary function is to provide day to day security in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) & Special Access Program (SAP) construction efforts.

HOW A SECURITY OFFICER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Assesses, identifies and communications recommendations for improvements of policies, procedures, or systems.
• Identifies threats, vulnerabilities, and potential risks.
• Drafts security incident reports and briefs government and civilian agencies including military senior leaders.
• Manages uniformed escort personnel and associated logs; assigns, trains, briefs site security duties and ensures timely reporting of security incidents to site lead.
• Follow and enforce customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative
• Shall conduct inspections of materials being delivered for utilization in construction of secure spaces.
• Will photograph and continuously monitor the construction of secure spaces and document all steps in order to support final accreditation packets.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and oversight of team members.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experience

• 3+ years related experience.
• Knowledgeable on ICD 705 (SCIF compliance with uniform IC physical and technical security requirements) desired.
• SAP experience required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree is desired and counts towards 4 years of experience. Associates degree counts towards 2 years of experience.

Experience Education Equivalencies

• Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
• Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
• Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years.

Certification

• Complete the DoD SAPCO approved SAPNP training

Security Clearance

• TS/SCI
• Willingness to sit for a CI polygraph

Other Requirements

• Complete additional safety training and/or certification as required by local site (i.e., OSHA 10 Construction Safety, OSHA Fall Protection and OSHA Confined Space) within the first 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain CDSE STEPP ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements for SAP course completion within the first 30 days of hire.
