Job summary

EDG Inc. is seeking a Construction Support Specialist (Electrical) to provide construction oversight and field coordination at project sites in the Jefferson, AR area.

This role focuses on ensuring work complies with OSHA regulations, local codes, and industry standards, while aligning with the service agreement and client policies. The position requires extensive experience in electric utility environments, strong analytical abilities, and active participation in EHS activities and reporting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent is required.
  • Associates Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all EHS activities and reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring the safety, environmental, and quality management of the Work.
  • Represent the Owner in the field and coordinating with the EPC contractor to ensure construction and commissioning work is performed in accordance with project documents, codes, and good industry practice.
  • Review engineering drawings
  • Participate and lead meetings with the client project team and EPC
  • Provide input to daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Manage and resolve issues and non-conformances
  • Support and drive issue resolution and lessons learned
  • Act as the Owner's Quality Assurance and perform routine audits of the EPC QA/QC program
  • Document findings in the field through field observation reports
  • Participate and lead system turnover walkdowns and verification
  • Assist Owner Project Controls in project quantity tracking and progress reporting

Education

Job Summary

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent;
  • Associates Degree or higher in ElectricalEngineering/Engineering Technology preferred;
  • Requires more than ten (10) years experiencein the Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, Substation or Nuclearfacilities industry (or other similar plant industries);
  • Requires ten (10) or more years experiencewith equipment and/or systems installation and commissioning at industrialfacilities;
  • Must be knowledgeable and be able to interpretand cite OSHA regulations and provide guidance to construction crews and uppermanagement on the proper application of these regulations in the workplace.
Working Conditions

Work is primarily conducted at ProjectConstruction Sites within Utility Company service area (may require occasionaltravel to other services areas).Thismight include electric Substations, Transmission and Distribution lines.

Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel.

Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection.

May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes.
