Job summary

EDG Inc in Jefferson, AR is seeking a Construction Support Specialist (Electrical) to provide field oversight, technical support, and ensure work complies with OSHA, codes, and client requirements.

You will review drawings, participate in meetings, track progress, and support QA/QC, with a focus on safety, quality, and timely turnover of assets.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Requires 10+ years experience in Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, Substation or Nuclear facilities.
  • Requires 10+ years experience with equipment and/or systems installation and commissioning at industrial facilities.
  • Must interpret OSHA regulations and guide field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in EHS activities and reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring safety, environmental, and quality management of the work.
  • Represent the Owner in the field and coordinate with the EPC contractor.
  • Review engineering drawings.
  • Lead client project team and EPC meetings.
  • Provide input to daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Manage and resolve issues and non-conformances.
  • Support and drive issue resolution and lessons learned.
  • Act as Owner's QA and perform routine audits of the EPC QA/QC program.
  • Document findings in field observation reports.
  • Lead system turnover walkdowns and verification.
  • Assist Owner Project Controls in quantity tracking and progress reporting.

Job Summary

Construction Support Specialist shall provide construction supportfor technical field oversight and performance to ensure work is being performed in compliance withOSHA regulations, all state and local codes, compliance with all accepted industry standards, client'spolicies and procedures, and the service agreement.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in all EHS activities andreporting

Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent;
  • Associates Degree or higher in ElectricalEngineering/Engineering Technology preferred;
  • Requires more than ten (10) years experiencein the Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, Substation or Nuclearfacilities industry (or other similar plant industries);
  • Requires ten (10) or more years experiencewith equipment and/or systems installation and commissioning at industrialfacilities;
  • Must be knowledgeable and be able to interpretand cite OSHA regulations and provide guidance to construction crews and uppermanagement on the proper application of these regulations in the workplace.
WorkingConditions:
  • Work is primarily conducted at ProjectConstruction Sites within Utility Company service area (may require occasionaltravel to other services areas).Thismight include electric Substations, Transmission and Distribution lines.
  • Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes.
