Job summary

EDG Inc. is seeking a Construction Support Specialist (Electrical) in Jefferson, AR to provide construction support for field oversight and ensure work complies with OSHA regulations, codes, and project standards.

With 10+ years in Electric Utility facilities and strong QA/QC background, you will lead field activities, coordinate with EPC contractors, participate in client meetings, and contribute to progress reporting and issue resolution at multiple sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have more than ten (10) years’ experience in Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, Substation or Nuclear facilities industry (or other similar plant industries);
• Requires ten (10) or more years’ experience with equipment and/or systems installation and commissioning at industrial facilities;
• Must be knowledgeable and able to interpret OSHA regulations and provide guidance to construction crews and upper management on proper application in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all EHS activities and reporting
• Assist in monitoring the safety, environmental, and quality management of the Work
• Represent the Owner in the field and coordinating with the EPC contractor to ensure construction and commissioning work is performed in accordance with project documents, codes, and good industry practice
• Participate and lead meetings with the client project team and EPC
• Provide input to daily/weekly/monthly reports
• Manage and resolve issues and non-conformances
• Support and drive issue resolution and lessons learned
• Act as the Owners Quality Assurance and perform routine audits of the EPC QA/QC program
• Document findings in the field through field observation reports
• Participate and lead system turnover walkdowns and verification
• Assist Owner Project Controls in project quantity tracking and progress reporting

Job Summary

• High School Diploma or the equivalent;
• Associates Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology preferred;
• Requires more than ten (10) years’ experience in the Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, Substation or Nuclear facilities industry (or other similar plant industries);
• Requires ten (10) or more years’ experience with equipment and/or systems installation and commissioning at industrial facilities;

Working Conditions

• Work is primarily conducted at Project Construction Sites within Utility Company service area (may require occasional travel to other services areas).This might include electric Substations, Transmission and Distribution lines.
• Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
• May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
