Job summary

AB + Construction & Development is seeking a Site Superintendent for a full-time on-site role in Brooklyn, NY. You will oversee daily construction activities, enforce safety, and ensure quality and adherence to plans and codes.

The role requires coordinating with supervisors and subcontractors, verifying equipment and material usage, and supporting scheduling and budgeting. Strong knowledge of NYC building codes and OSHA 30 certification are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and NYC building/safety codes; OSHA 30 certification beneficial.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with ability to give clear instructions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.

Role Description

The Site Superintendent is a full-time, on-site position based in Brooklyn, NY. This role is responsible for daily oversight of construction activities, including monitoring worksite safety, quality, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations. The Construction Competent Person identifies and addresses hazards, conducts regular site inspections, and ensures that crews follow approved plans, safety procedures, and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with supervisors and subcontractors, verifying the proper use of equipment and materials, and documenting site conditions and incidents. The role also supports scheduling, assists with basic budgeting and resource tracking, and communicates project status and issues to management to keep the work progressing safely and efficiently.

• Experience with Inspection activities, including identifying hazards, non-conformances, and safety violations.

• Ability to support Budgeting tasks such as tracking labor, materials, and project costs.
• Previous experience as a competent person or foreperson on construction sites, preferably in urban or mid- to high-rise projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and local NYC building and safety codes; relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30) are highly beneficial.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to give clear instructions and collaborate with diverse site teams.
• Proven ability to identify problems in the field and recommend practical, safe solutions under time constraints.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or trade school certificate in construction-related fields is a plus.
