Morris Habitat for Humanity in Randolph, NJ is seeking an energetic Construction Supervisor to lead job site operations, train volunteer crews, and uphold safety and quality on residential builds. This full-time, hourly role serves as the on-site ambassador for our mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Daily travel to active build sites is required. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will manage productivity, safety, and community relations while hands-on

Qualifications

• Residential framing, roofing, carpentry, or general contracting experience.
• Ability to read residential blueprints and understand structural standards.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
• Reliable transportation to travel to multiple sites across the territory.
• Knowledge of Habitat for Humanity or HFH partner expectations.

Responsibilities

• Site management and productivity: plan, organize, and allocate resources daily to maximize workflow and meet milestones.
• Lead and train diverse volunteer crews and family partners on safe home-building techniques.
• Ensure safety culture by conducting briefings and enforcing OSHA guidelines.
• Engage with public officials, media, and sponsors as an upbeat Habitat ambassador.
• Document volunteer hours, labor exchanges, and material tracking.
• Perform hands-on carpentry during on-site operations when supervisor actions are complete.

Greater Middlesex & Morris Habitat for Humanity is seeking an energetic, professional Construction Supervisor to lead job site operations, build community relationships, and train enthusiastic teams of volunteers. This full-time role serves as the primary on-site ambassador for our mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter across the organization's servicing area. Based out of our central office in Randolph, New Jersey, you will directly report to the Project Manager and oversee daily job site productivity, safety, and community volunteer alignment.

This role reports to the Project Manager and is based out of Morris Habitat for Humanity's office in Randolph, New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Management & Productivity: Plan, organize, and allocate resources daily to maximize workflow efficiency and meet construction milestones.
• Leadership & Field Training: Educate, demonstrate, and guide diverse volunteer crews and family partners in safe, proper home-building techniques.
• Safety Culture: Conduct safety briefings, manage job site tools, and rigorously enforce OSHA guidelines to maintain incident-free workspaces.
• Community Relations: Act as an upbeat public ambassador for GMM Habitat engaging warmly with public officials, news media, and community sponsors. [1]
• Operational Reporting: Document and maintain records of volunteer hours, labor exchanges, and project material tracking.
• Hands-on Carpentry: Execute production-level construction work on-site during operational windows when direct supervisor actions are complete.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Industry Expertise: Proven, practical experience in residential framing, roofing, carpentry, or general contracting.
• Technical Knowledge: Thorough operational understanding of residential builds, building blueprints, and structural standards.
• Compliance Credentials: A valid New Jersey Driver's License and active automotive liability insurance for regional site travel.
• Mobility: Reliable personal transportation to travel smoothly to scattered construction locations across our territory.
• Company Knowledge: Site Supervisors are one of the most visible ambassadors for HFH, and as a result, they will be asked Habitat-related questions from volunteers, public officials, and even the news media. Therefore, each Site Supervisor should know enough about HFH to field at least the basic questions.

Preferred Competencies

• Leadership & Demeanor: Exceptional interpersonal skills, a patient coaching style, and a collaborative attitude to lead diverse teams successfully without pressure.
• Continuous Learning: Proactive mindset focused on self-assessing skills and working with project managers to expand technical competencies.
• Language Skills: Conversational proficiency or fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.

Position Overview

• Role Type: Full-Time, Hourly
• Compensation: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (dependent on experience) + comprehensive benefits package.
• Location: Randolph, NJ (with daily travel to active local build sites).
• Reporting To: Project Manager.
