Job summary

Talion Construction, LLC is seeking a Superintendent/Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to lead daily site operations and enforce safety on a VA/Federal construction project in Arvin, CA. The role combines on-site supervision with SSHO responsibilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and project specs.

You will develop safety plans, conduct site inspections, train personnel, manage QA/QC coordination, and collaborate with the Project Manager, QC Manager, and owners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• OSHA 30 in Construction is required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations on the construction site, coordinating with Talion employees, subcontractors, consultants, and owners.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, owner representatives, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow.
• Develop and implement the Quality Control Plan; track and correct deficiencies.
• Schedule and conduct inspections, verify material compliance with specs, and manage RFIs and submittals.
• Ensure on-site safety for all personnel; support SSHO and attend safety meetings.
• Participate in client and internal meetings and manage project schedules/look-ahead coordination.
• Prepare change orders with the Project Manager and assist with procurements and PO requests.
• Maintain thorough project documentation (daily reports, sign-in sheets, CQ reports).
