Job summary

Clancy & Theys Construction Company in Wilmington, NC seeks a Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations for major commercial projects, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and quality. As the primary field representative, you will direct subcontractors and field staff, maintain open communication with clients and design teams, and uphold safety and quality programs.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 and CPR certifications required.
• 1–5 years of progressive experience as Assistant or Project Superintendent with a mid- to large-size GC.
• 5–8 years of construction industry experience.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong computer skills: CM software, Bluebeam, MS Office; AutoCAD and scheduling software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for all on-site construction activities and act as primary field contact.
• Ensure projects meet contractual documents, specifications, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Corporate EHS Director and site team to maintain a safe jobsite.
• Enforce safety, quality control, and subcontractor compliance on site.
• Participate in preconstruction sessions to develop schedules and budgets.
• Facilitate weekly progress meetings with design teams, trade partners, and stakeholders.
• Maintain and distribute jobsite documentation and inspection records.
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Schedule daily activities to meet deadlines and manage punch lists.
