Job summary

Lang Constructors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial and federal projects across the Midwest and Southeast.

You will supervise in-house crews and subcontractors, ensure safety, and drive schedule adherence from mobilization through closeout. You will read and interpret plans, manage look-ahead schedules, and coordinate inspections and deliveries while maintaining documentation and field reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience including leadership of large projects.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and contract documents.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with cross-team coordination.
• Willingness to travel for project assignments and valid driver's license.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Lang Constructors is a Michigan-based general contractor performing commercial and federal construction work throughout the Midwest and Southeast. The majority of our work is federal, with projects ranging from renovations and facility improvements to multi-million-dollar construction projects.

With several significant projects ahead, we are looking to add an experienced Construction Superintendent to our team. We are looking for someone who knows how to run a jobsite, keep the work moving, manage subcontractors and in-house crews, and stay ahead of schedule, quality and safety issues. This position requires a Superintendent who can take ownership of the field operation and work closely with the Project Manager from mobilization through final closeout.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Manage day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects
• Plan and coordinate the daily work of Lang's in-house field personnel
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and in-house crews to maintain the project schedule
• Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules, monitor manpower and sequencing, and address issues that could affect progress
• Review drawings, specifications and scopes of work and ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements
• Coordinate inspections, testing, deliveries, material staging and site logistics
• Monitor workmanship and quality and address deficiencies as they occur
• Maintain a safe, organized and professional jobsite and enforce project safety requirements
• Lead subcontractor coordination and site meetings as required
• Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation and jobsite records
• Communicate field conditions, RFIs, potential change orders, schedule concerns and other project issues to the Project Manager
• Anticipate and resolve field issues before they affect schedule, cost or quality
• Manage punch list completion and field activities through final project closeout

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience, including demonstrated success as the lead Superintendent on large scale projects
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing and jobsite operations
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to direct field personnel and hold subcontractors accountable
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents
• Organized, proactive and able to make sound field decisions and solve problems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and company leadership
• Comfortable taking ownership of the jobsite and being accountable for field performance
• Willingness to travel for project assignments
• Valid driver's license

OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Travel is required for this position and may include extended out-of-state project assignments. For qualifying travel assignments, Lang provides company-paid housing and additional travel benefits. Specific travel arrangements and benefits can be discussed during the interview process.
