Position Overview

Callanan Industries is seeking a Heavy Highway Construction Superintendent at the Canastota location. The role involves the supervision of heavy highway contracts, planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Ability to work both days and nights and be flexible with last‑minute schedule changes, location changes, and shift changes.
• Must be able to interact with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Self‑motivated, conscientious, and a strong team member.
• Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and resources allocation.
• Establish work plans and staffing for each phase, and arrange recruitment or assignment of personnel.
• Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
• Ensure a safe work environment by overseeing compliance with all safety policies.
• Adhere to PPE policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition.
• Reliable attendance at assigned times is required.
• Pre‑employment screenings are required before employment.
• Assist in the bidding process.
• Read blueprints and plans.
• Basic surveying skills.
