Job summary

ATI Group is seeking a motivated Construction Superintendent to oversee on-site operations for projects across Iowa, including the Iowa City metro. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, site management, and coordination of subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and on-time completion.

Familiarity with local building codes, OSHA safety standards, and experience in commercial/industrial construction are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred.
• Self-starter with strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with standard office software and cloud-based platforms (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox).
• Knowledge of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
• Experience supervising construction, especially commercial/industrial.
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred; First Aid/CPR preferred. ATI can provide training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily on-site activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality and compliance with local building codes.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting for changes and delays.
• Enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment per OSHA/local regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between on-site teams and project management with progress updates.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, materials used, and incidents.

• Knowledge: Understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
• Experience: Construction supervision with experience in commercial/industrial construction.
• Certifications: OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification preferred; First Aid/CPR certification preferred. ATI can provide certification training if needed.

Additional Preferred Attributes

• Familiarity with the greater Iowa City metro construction markets.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with local permitting processes and building inspections.
