Construction Superintendent and/or Foreman
Brooklyn-based Boutique General Contractor specializing in light commercial construction projects is seeking an experienced construction professional who is well-organized and possesses a sense of urgency. Commercial experience is essential. Strong scheduling and supervision skills are required.

Responsibilities include: overseeing activities at construction sites, supervising the construction team’s progress and performance. An architecture/engineering background is helpful but not mandatory.

Preference for an experienced lead carpenter willing to perform layouts and framings, with management skills to coordinate trades across all phases of construction including framing, masonry, etc.

Additional responsibilities:

• Ensuring adherence to state and local codes
• Arranging for necessary equipment and supplies
• Keeping project costs and deadlines on budget
• Monitoring daily work to keep the team on schedule

Must be able to get to jobs in NYC.

Minimum requirements:

• 10+ years of carpentry experience and project supervision, quality management
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Legal to work in the U.S., valid driver’s license

Additional responsibilities include:

• Supervision of all subcontractors, vendors, and direct labor
• Performing layouts
• Coordinating trades
• Managing materials, ordering, and deliveries
• Ensuring quality, code, and plan compliance
• Developing and maintaining project schedules
• Site safety and record keeping
• Communicating effectively with trades, ownership, and design team
• Handling multiple job sites

Other skills and qualifications:

• Strong eye for detail
• Good character and conscientiousness
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Estimating and/or trade background is helpful
• Computer literacy (MS Project, Outlook, Excel) is a plus
• Clean driver’s license
• Ability to represent the firm confidently on various jobsites
• Proven track record with 10+ years of experience
