Position Overview

We are hiring a Construction Superintendent to lead field construction on projects across the San Francisco Bay Area. You will own organization, planning, and scheduling so work finishes on time, within budget, and to the quality specified. You are the primary day-to-day liaison with owners, architects, and engineers, and you lead the field team and subcontractors on site.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field construction, including organization, planning, and scheduling to complete work on time, within budget, and to specified quality
• Serve as the primary liaison with owners, architects, and engineers for day-to-day construction activities
• Develop and implement project schedules, identify the critical path, and expedite critical materials and equipment
• Lead, supervise, and develop field staff, including performance appraisals
• Develop and manage the site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with company standards and all applicable codes
• Make decisions on scheduling, deliveries, logistics, quality control, and trade staffing levels
• Coordinate all trades and resolve issues on sequencing, design clarifications, labor, equipment, and schedule
• Manage subcontractor and trade labor relations
• Run mock-ups and the associated testing, review, and approval
• Keep permits and insurance current and act as liaison to inspection agencies
• Serve as Stormwater Compliance Coordinator (SCC)
• Manage General Conditions and General Requirements to budget
• Manage billing for work in place, including monthly estimates, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor pay applications
• Ensure installed work conforms to the approved contract documents
• Uphold ethics and compliance requirements at all times

Qualifications

• 10+ years of building construction experience, with at least several years as a Superintendent
• Thorough knowledge of contract documents, drawings and specs, construction means and methods, and line and grade / survey methods
• Working knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Procore or similar a plus
• Familiarity with LEED and other leading-edge practices
• Strong leadership, management, and communication skills
• Hospitality, retail, multifamily, commercial, or public works experience preferred
