Job summary

SERVPRO of Birmingham is hiring a Construction Superintendent to lead restoration projects on-site in the Birmingham area. You will manage punch lists, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure adherence to plans, codes, and client expectations.

Strong communication and customer service skills are essential. A high school diploma is required; PMP is preferred. This role offers hands-on supervision, daily client updates, and opportunities for advancement within the franchise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Excellent customer service track record.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Experience in restoration and/or construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Compile and resolve punch list items.
• Perform final walk-through with customer.
• Secure signed Completion of Completion and Certificate of Satisfaction from customer.
• Conduct pre-construction meeting with customer.
• Provide project updates to customers and clients (daily).
• Schedule all subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Ensure all work complies with plans, specs, local codes, and scope of work.
• Document all project activities in the job book.
• Execute change orders and set project-by-project expectations.
• Maintain quality through site inspections.
• Evaluate and rate all vendors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions.
• Ensure materials deliver as purchased.
• Ensure subcontractors complete work per purchase orders.
• Verify schedule and progress.
• Identify areas outside contracted scope.
• Be familiar with and able to execute all roles of Construction Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

Position Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• Superb customer service track record
• Effective written and oral communication
• Basic math skills
• Experience in restoration and/or construction preferred

• Walking and/or standing throughout the day
• Frequent driving and sitting
• Occasionally climbing ladders
• Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat
• The noise level at individual jobsites can be loud
