Job summary

MRG Construction is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead on-site construction of commercial projects in New England from its Peabody, MA office. You will oversee subcontractors, schedules, safety, and quality to meet deadlines and budgets.

You will coordinate with the Project Manager, review plans with crews, conduct toolbox talks, secure permits, and ensure compliance with codes and OSHA 30 requirements. Regular travel throughout New England is expected.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Strong knowledge of current building codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and professional demeanor.
• Willingness to travel across New England.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subcontractors and construction of projects according to deadlines and budgets.
• Coordinate scheduling and communication with subcontractors.
• Coordinate delivery schedules for materials and equipment.
• Review plans with subcontractors before start-up.
• Make decisions to maximize profitability and meet deadlines.
• Communicate with Project Manager on progress and delays.
• Engage with customers, subcontractors and PMs when adjusting schedules.
• Complete MR G reporting requirements for clients.
• Lead weekly toolbox talks on site.
• Interact with building departments for permits and inspections.
• Ensure permits, plans, safety and compliance materials are present.

Job description

MRG Construction is hiring a Construction Superintendent. MRG is a commercial construction management company located in Peabody, MA. Project span a variety of commercial construction in New England.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise subcontractors and the overall construction of projects according to strict deadlines and budget requirements
• Communicate with subcontractors, coordinate scheduling, to ensure project is completed on time
• Coordinate delivery schedules for project materials, tools and equipment.
• Follow all plans & specs, and review them with subcontractors prior to project start-up
• Make project construction and scheduling decisions with the objective of increasing project profitability and project deadline
• Determine plan of action when unforeseen conditions and/or problems arise on construction sites
• Communicate with the Project Manager regularly to provide updates on progress, delays and future concerns
• Open communication with customers, subcontractors and Project Managers when making adjustments with project schedule and budget
• Complete all MRG reporting requirements and ensure they are submitted for distribution to clients
• Perform weekly toolbox talks meetings with all parties on jobsite
• Interact with building departments for permits, inspections and certificate of occupancy
• Ensure all required permits, project plans safety and compliance materials are present on each construction site

Qualifications:

• OSHA 30 Certification
• Knowledge of current building and construction codes
• Excellent verbal and written communication, managerial and interpersonal skills demonstrating high level of professionalism
• Strong problem solving
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe construction practices (OSHA)
• Willingness to travel to throughout the New England area
