Job summary

Amicus Talent Group on behalf of a leading Houston-based General Contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial projects in the Houston area.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong GC background, proven leadership, and hands-on expertise in ground-up construction, scheduling, QA/QC, and safety, driving projects from mobilization to closeout while coordinating subcontractors and field personnel.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to join an established General Contractor delivering commercial construction projects throughout the Houston area.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial GC background and experience managing projects from ground-up construction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities on site
• Lead projects from mobilization and ground-up construction through completion and turnover
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades and field personnel
• Maintain project schedules and drive subcontractor accountability
• Conduct daily site meetings and coordinate upcoming work
• Work closely with Project Managers and project leadership
• Review drawings, specifications and construction documents
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget
• Monitor quality and ensure work meets project specifications
• Maintain a safe, organized and productive jobsite
• Manage inspections, punch lists and project closeout
• Build strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors and project stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• Strong General Contractor (GC) background
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling and field operations
• Ability to effectively manage multiple subcontractors and trades
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong focus on safety, quality and schedule
• Based in or able to work throughout the Houston area
