Manage approximately 10-15 subcontractors, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, flooring, roofing, casework, fire protection/sprinklers, structural contractors, and specialty equipment contractors.
Drive completion of all milestone activities and proactively identify schedule impacts.
Manage predecessor and successor tasks, and communicate delays immediately.
Reallocate resources when necessary and maintain an aggressive project schedule.
Enforce all safety standards, ensure lockout/tagout compliance, and verify hot work permits.
Conduct daily safety coordination and maintain an OSHA-compliant work environment.
Interface with client safety representatives and direct subcontractor activities.
Hold contractors accountable, push schedule execution, and resolve field issues.
Communicate regularly with the office team and escalation potential change orders.
Communicate field conditions, coordinate with office staff regarding project updates, and track contractor performance.
Superintendent experience running large pharmaceutical construction projects ($50-100 million).
Experience managing multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
Strong safety management background.
Pharmaceutical project experience.
Ability to work extended hours/double shifts.
Proficiency in Procore, OSHA 30, field supervision, construction safety, and construction supervision.
Experience in GMP environments, healthcare construction, laboratory construction, and industrial facility construction.
Familiarity with Autodesk.
Former General Contractor Superintendent experience.
Experience delivering projects with compressed schedules.
Technical skills in construction sequencing, site logistics planning, safety compliance, schedule management, contractor coordination, and reading construction documents.
Nice to have skills include Autodesk, Procore, change order identification, and project documentation systems.
The project involves working within a large pharmaceutical company characterized by a safety-first culture and heavy documentation requirements. The environment is highly regulated with strict OSHA compliance. Daily coordination and planning meetings are essential. The scope of work includes demolition activities, high-density storage relocation, construction of new support spaces, fire protection systems, FM-200 systems, pre-action sprinkler systems, fire dampers, alarm integrations, and multi-phase logistical sequencing in an occupied facility.
This is a Contract position based out of Cranbury, NJ.
The pay range for this position is $60.10 - $64.90/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
