Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Staff Engineer III to join our team in the Business Services industry. As a Staff Engineer III, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. Your expertise in construction engineering will be critical to the success of our projects. The nature of this position is temporary. Employment may be expected to end at the conclusion of each assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure efficient and effective execution of all aspects of the project
  • Provide technical expertise in construction engineering to ensure project success
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and building codes

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in construction engineering
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with AutoCAD and other design software
  • Experience with LEED certification and sustainable building practices

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, snow, rain) for extended periods of time and to stand for 8 to 12 hours per day. This work requires walking and standing on uneven terrain. Employees must also be able to lift and move a minimum of 30 lbs. (concrete cylinders), sit, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands or arms. The employee must be able to ascend and descend a ladder and stairs up to a minimum of 20 feet in vertical distance. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and other office equipment as required. The employee is also required to kneel, crouch, and bend. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Compensation Range

$40.25 - $62.50 / hour

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Illinois Salary Transparency amendment to the Equal Pay Act of 2003. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
