Job summary

ENGEO is seeking a Special Inspector to perform field duties including reinforcing steel inspection, concrete placement inspection, and concrete sampling at multiple project sites for structures and walls. The role requires ACI/ICC certifications and may involve additional inspections per agency guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform field duties including reinforcing steel inspection and concrete placement inspection.
• Conduct concrete sampling at various project sites for structures and walls.
• Provide written documentation of inspections, sampling, and field test results daily using a Surface/Tablet computer.
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, city agents, and project managers.
• Support business and relationship development through teamwork and proactive problem solving.

Job description

Special Inspector Position Overview

With ACI and ICC certifications, you will perform field duties which include reinforcing steel inspection, concrete placement inspection, and concrete sampling at various project sites for structures and walls. Additional inspection services, with applicable ACI, ICC, DSA, or AWS/CWI certifications, include pre-stressed/post-tensioned inspections, post-installed anchor inspections, masonry inspections, structural steel inspections for bolting and welding, wood framing and nailing inspections, fireproofing inspections, and non-destructive testing. Must use a Surface/Tablet computer (company provided) to provide written documentation of inspections, sampling, and field test results daily.

• Must be drug-free and have a good driving record
• Strong computer skills for daily data entry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to safely and consistently transport up to 50 lbs.

• Must have a reliable, field-appropriate vehicle (truck or SUV required, daily vehicle reimbursement provided)

Required Education

• High School/GED required
• College coursework (a plus)

Required License/Certification

• Valid Driver’s License
• ACI Field Grade Testing 1
• ICC Master of Special Inspection
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete
  • ICC Structural Masonry
  • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting
  • ICC Structural Welding
  • ICC Pre-Stressed Concrete (a plus, or obtain within agreed upon timeframe)
• Active membership with Local Operating Engineers 3 union (may join upon hire)
• Other ACI, ICC, DSA, NDT, or AWS/CWI Certifications (a plus)
• Military veterans (preferred)

Estimated hourly range: $54.09 - $62.60
