Job summary

ENGEO in California seeks a Special Inspector to perform field duties including reinforcing steel inspection, concrete placement inspection, and concrete sampling at project sites. You will document inspections daily using a Surface/Tablet computer and collaborate with project teams to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

A thorough set of certifications (ACI, ICC, DSA, AWS/CWI) and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.

• ACI Field Grade Testing 1 / ICC certifications preferred.
• Strong computer skills for daily data entry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Additional inspection services, with applicable ACI, ICC, DSA, or AWS/CWI certifications, include pre-stressed/post-tensioned inspections, post-installed anchor inspections, masonry inspections, structural steel inspections for bolting and welding, wood framing and nailing inspections, fireproofing inspections, and non-destructive testing. Must use a Surface/Tablet computer (company provided) to provide written documentation of inspections, sampling, and field test results daily.

Required Education

• High School/GED required
• College coursework (a plus)

Required License/Certification

• Valid Driver's License
• ACI Field Grade Testing 1
• ICC Master of Special Inspection
• ICC Reinforced Concrete
• ICC Structural Masonry
• ICC Structural Steel and Bolting
• ICC Structural Welding
• ICC Pre-Stressed Concrete (a plus, or obtain within agreed upon timeframe)
• Active membership with Local Operating Engineers 3 union (may join upon hire)
• Other ACI, ICC, DSA, NDT, or AWS/CWI Certifications (a plus)
• Military veterans (preferred)

Estimated hourly range: $54.09 - $62.60
