Kelly Engineering is seeking a Construction Site Superintendent for a pharmaceutical facility project in Toa Baja, PR. Open to negotiation; W-2 with fringe benefits; shift: Administrative.

Requirements include 5+ years in field management in Puerto Rico, degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong reading of drawings, and coordination of subcontractors and trades. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; OSHA 30 preferred; must reside in Puerto Rico.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training preferred.
• Must be based in Puerto Rico with knowledge of local construction practices.

Responsibilities

• The Construction Site Superintendent will oversee all daily onsite activities, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring safety and schedule compliance.
• Manage work sequencing, site access, deliveries, material staging, and housekeeping to maintain productivity.
• Coordinate inspections, resolve field conflicts, and secure permits as required.

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of superintendent or field-management experience working in Puerto Rico for a pharmaceutical facility construction project.


• Associate or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.


• Established experience coordinating Puerto Rico subcontractors, labor, suppliers, and inspectors.


• Experience with industrial, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, healthcare, or complex MEP/TI work preferred.


• Strong ability to read drawings, coordinate trades, and manage site logistics.


• Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred.


• OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training preferred.


• Must be based in Puerto Rico and have strong knowledge of local construction practices.

The Construction Site Superintendent will oversee and manage all daily onsite construction activities related to AIS work, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and quality standards. While demolition activities will be performed by others, this role is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, managing work sequencing, site access, deliveries, material staging, housekeeping, and overall site logistics. The Superintendent will also coordinate inspections, resolve field conflicts, facilitate required shutdowns, secure necessary permits, and monitor daily progress to maintain productivity and project objectives.
