Job summary

Kensington Fine Homes is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Site Superintendent to oversee daily construction activities on residential projects from start to finish.

The ideal candidate will coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, monitor quality and safety, conduct site inspections, and communicate effectively with homeowners, project managers and the construction team to keep projects on time and within company standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of residential construction experience preferred.
  • Experience as a Construction Superintendent, Site Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or similar role is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of residential building codes and permitting processes.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily construction activities on residential job sites.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, trades, vendors, and site personnel.
  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, building codes, and company standards.
  • Review construction drawings, plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Maintain and update project schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Conduct daily site walks and monitor project progress.
  • Identify construction issues, delays, material shortages, and potential problems before they affect the schedule.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure required permits and inspections are completed.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure quality-control standards are maintained.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
  • Communicate project updates, delays, and issues to the Project Manager.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Assist with estimating material quantities and identifying potential material needs.
  • Work with subcontractors to resolve scheduling, quality, and construction issues.
  • Conduct pre-construction and project coordination meetings as needed.
  • Perform punch-list inspections and coordinate completion of outstanding work.
  • Ensure the site is properly secured at the end of each workday.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and the general public.

  • 5+ years of residential construction experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Site Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction processes and building practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of residential building codes and permitting processes.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and trades.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk construction sites for extended periods. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail and the ability to identify potential issues early. This person should be comfortable overseeing multiple trades, reviewing plans and specifications, monitoring workmanship, coordinating materials and schedules, and ensuring each phase of construction is completed correctly before moving forward. We are seeking someone who takes ownership of the job site, follows through on responsibilities, and communicates clearly with subcontractors and management.
