Job summary

Shirley Parsons has partnered with a leading General Contractor to identify a Senior Safety Coordinator who will make an immediate impact on a growing team. This site-based role proactively addresses hazards and supports compliance with safety standards and regulations.

The Senior Safety Coordinator will contribute to pre-construction planning, assess subcontractors’ safety programs, manage incident investigations, and perform on-site inspections to implement corrective actions with project

Qualifications

3-5 years of construction safety experience (preferably for a general contractor).
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Professional Safety certifications such as CHST, CSP OR ASP preferred.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

Contribute to pre-construction and project planning by developing site-specific health and safety programs and procedures.
Assess subcontractor safety programs, operating practices, procedures, and equipment for compliance with safety standards and regs.
Manage investigations for workplace incidents, injuries, near-misses, and property damage, including reporting and corrective actions.
Perform safety inspections and compliance audits at construction sites, facilities, and shop locations, and drive corrective measures with project teams and subcontractors.
