Job summary

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is seeking a Safety Manager to join our Central Texas team in Austin. You will be the lead safety position on the project site, enforcing the company safety program and safeguarding workers on site.

You will also assist the Project Team to maintain an accident-free workplace and ensure OSHA compliance across all activities. Essential duties include conducting safety orientations, inspections, root cause analyses, and safety training for job-site personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years dedicated safety experience on a commercial construction jobsite.
• Proven knowledge in Fall Protection, Scaffold Systems, Excavation, Confined Space, Cranes and Rigging, Equipment operations, Electrical, Incident/Accident Investigation, Steel Erection/Tilt Wall Construction.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Site-Specific Safety Plan and Emergency Action Plan.
• Conduct site safety orientations for new employees and review safe practices.
• Enforce disciplinary actions for safety violations and implement corrective measures.
• Perform weekly site safety inspections and coordinate with regional/corporate resources and Owners Representatives.
• Assist in accident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Support weekly job-site safety inspections and OSHA compliance across activities.
• Educate and coach trade partners through on-the-spot safety training and toolbox talks.
• Identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure prompt corrective actions.
