Morris Habitat for Humanity in Randolph Township, NJ is seeking a Construction Assistant to support our project team on community builds. You will coordinate materials, supervise volunteers, and help maintain site safety and organization.

This full-time role reports to the Project Manager and offers hands-on experience with blueprints, logistics, and community engagement while contributing to Habitat’s mission.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean driving record and current automotive liability insurance.
• Access to a reliable, work-appropriate vehicle suitable for hauling or moving materials.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a natural ability to connect with diverse groups.
• Proficiency with foundational digital tools, including Microsoft Word, email, and web browsers.

Responsibilities

• Procure and transport approved construction materials and tools from local vendors to active jobsites.
• Coordinate the collection and inventory of donated materials and building items.
• Anticipate site needs to ensure field crews always have the proper tools and supplies ready for use.
• Maintain organization and safety standards across the construction area and material storage zones.
• Interpret blueprint layouts and structural construction plans to assist with daily project tasks.
• Supervise, mentor, and guide diverse groups of volunteers on-site, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
