Job summary

W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent I to support the Superintendent on site and oversee labor in assigned areas. The role focuses on applying foundational construction knowledge to begin managing responsibilities and ensuring project progress.

You will assist in planning manpower, reviewing documents, attending coordination meetings, and supporting project teams to maintain quality and safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher preferred in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of basic construction/engineering principles.
• Knowledge of basic business principles to monitor expenses.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishing tasks assigned by the Superintendent and communicating their progress.
• Assisting Superintendent with planning manpower.
• Reviewing and becoming familiar with project contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Participating in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns, taking minutes as required.
• Providing field support to construction superintendents and project managers to help ensure contract compliance and quality control.
